What is a Copilot Prompt-a-thon?

A Prompt‑a‑thon is an interactive Copilot workshop and hack session where you’ll learn the art of prompting – how to ask Copilot the right questions, in the right way, to get meaningful, accurate, and useful results.

You’ll work through real‑world scenarios, collaborate with others, and see first‑hand what Microsoft Copilot can do when it’s prompted properly – and where its limits are.

Who it's for

This session is ideal for organisations that:

  • Already have Microsoft Copilot licences (or are about to roll them out)
  • Want staff to use Copilot correctly, confidently and responsibly
  • Are tired of generic AI demos and want practical, role‑based use cases
  • Want to improve productivity across all teams

No technical background needed – just curiosity and a willingness to get stuck in.

*Please note, you will need to bring your own laptop to the session and your email address will be required to participate in activities using Microsoft Teams

What we'll cover

Throughout the session, we’ll explore:

  • The art of the prompt – how to structure prompts so Copilot understands what you actually want
  • What good vs bad prompting looks like – and why small changes make a big difference
  • Real business scenarios – using Copilot for everyday tasks, not theory
  • Copilot’s strengths and limitations – what it’s brilliant at – and where human judgement still matters
  • Practical tips you can take back to work immediately

Everything is grounded in real examples and live use, based on Microsoft’s Prompt-a-thon framework.
