Cloud migration and hosting
Making the decision to move away from ‘traditional’ IT environments (where all applications and data resided within an organisations physical location) to the hybrid and ‘cloud first’ environments of today (where data and applications reside in the best place for them, on a case by case basis), needn’t be daunting. The process should be business led, not technology led, focussed on delivering the best outcomes across key themes such as Return on Investment, Security, Flexibility, Ease of Access, etc and ideally considered in conjunction with a specialist who can help you steer your way through the various options available to you.
Organisations choose to adopt increasingly cloud-oriented environments only because it is demonstrable they deliver the outcomes those organisations are seeking. But there isn’t a single cloud-based solution there are, of course, a multitude of approaches. Multiple vendors offer ‘public’ solutions, where you rent storage space or compute power as required, paying for what you consume on a monthly basis. Others will help you configure your own ‘private’ solution, where it might be your equipment in a data centre but still accessed through the medium of cloud technologies giving you peace of mind that somebody else is worrying about the safety and security of your physical environs. And then of course there are providers of software products where you have no interaction with the environment at all, you are simply delivered access to both the application and your data seamlessly on any device.
Only through detailed discussion and analysis of your business is it possible to assess which options will work best for the evolution of your IT systems and the way that your users interact with it. Once we know you, we can then advise you.
